Week 2- Picking up Steam!

This past Sunday, the Soup Group got lucky with an absolutely gorgeous fall morning! We had 9 runners come out and meet up at the home of this week's host, Hiroshi Morimoto. Runners ran various distances ranging from 3 to 7+ miles. The group was a nice mix of Soup Group veterans and newbies, and even resulted in at least 3 new TVFR members!

The new road cues continue to be a big success. What's so great about the road cues you ask? They make it so that everyone can run their own distance AT THEIR OWN PACE and not have to worry about getting lost or holding anyone back. Just keep an eye out for the cues and follow the arrow for your selected distance! (check out a photo of a road cue on the right hand side of this blog to see what I'm talking about.)

After the run, everyone was treated to Hiroshi's wonderful Curry Stew with Rice and Udon noodles.

Next week, the group will meet at the office of Mike McMullin in Whitinsville, MA. We hope to see to see even more of you and have the group grow every week. Sign up right here on the blog. (over to the right).  IT'S FREE!!

" ...... I wanted to say to everyone in the club who hasn't done one of the soup runs to give it a try!
We did our first one last week - had been hesitant because we both are nursing injuries and going slow, but we went with Jill's walk-run group and did some running, some walking and it worked out fine. It is SO much easier to get out there in the cold when there is a group.
Love the soup idea, too. Nothing like hot soup on a cold day and the camaraderie of relaxing after a run with a bunch of running friends. I'm not sure whose idea it was to start these runs, but it's one of the best things the club has done."

The soup and fellowship that follow each run are as enjoyable as the run. This has been a great opportunity to pick up many tips from more experienced runners as well as a time to enjoy camaraderie with fellow runners. I could not say enough about the wonderful group of people I have had the great pleasure to meet through joining TVFR.
