December 11th, 2011

Wow! Another gorgeous Sunday morning for a run!
With brilliant blue skies and absolutely no wind, the soup group once again converged on the home of Joe and Allyson Hamm in Medway.
10 runners came out for runs of anywhere from 3 to 8 miles. We were even treated to a cameo appearance from the infamous Dan Davin!

A special thanks go out to Janet Matthies of Infinity Flexibility and Strength Training who came out to show the group some good post run stretching techniques. As an added bonus, she also made the soup!!

" ...... I wanted to say to everyone in the club who hasn't done one of the soup runs to give it a try!
We did our first one last week - had been hesitant because we both are nursing injuries and going slow, but we went with Jill's walk-run group and did some running, some walking and it worked out fine. It is SO much easier to get out there in the cold when there is a group.
Love the soup idea, too. Nothing like hot soup on a cold day and the camaraderie of relaxing after a run with a bunch of running friends. I'm not sure whose idea it was to start these runs, but it's one of the best things the club has done."

The soup and fellowship that follow each run are as enjoyable as the run. This has been a great opportunity to pick up many tips from more experienced runners as well as a time to enjoy camaraderie with fellow runners. I could not say enough about the wonderful group of people I have had the great pleasure to meet through joining TVFR.
